Connecticut court officials have warned about a scam that exploits people's fear of arrest and the possibility of a missed call to jury duty. These scams can come as phone calls or emails, but Jury Administration does not initiate phone calls or emails. Please do not respond to these communications!
The scammers often pose as sheriffs or court officials, demanding you pay a fine immediately to resolve the "issue." Another version sees the scammers claiming you have an arrest warrant out and need to pay the fine to resolve it. It is critical that you do not engage with the scammers - even though they can be very convincing!
